Y'all, all y'all, you'ns - Y'all is a group of people. All y'all is more than one group of people. You'ns is like y'all but is actually pronouced yuhns - curl your top lip.
Plumb - absolute. He's plumb crazy! This place is plumb swanky (ornate or fancy)!
Reckon - to guess, or agree. "Can I have some candy Momma?" "I reckon". Is that the way to the highway?" "I reckon" (don't trust that observation).
Nekkid - The late, great Lewis Grizzard (Lord, bless him!) defined nekkid differently from naked. Naked is not having any clothes on. Nekkid is not having any clothes on and being "up to something".

In his honor ~ A tribute to Steven Bland
from our 8th anniversary issue
In a lot of ways, the pairing of a rodeo cowgirl Tootie Bailey and Texan roper and cattle rancher Steven Bland seems simply perfect. After all, cowboy sees a beautiful cowgirl, swoops her up and takes her back to Texas, right?
What you should know, first and foremost about Tootie Bailey Bland and the love of her life, Steven “Dooky” Bland is that nothing about them is simple. Everything, is full on … laugh out loud, kaleidoscopically colorful, about plumb crazy … sometimes unbelievable. But, believe it! This is Dook's story told from the eyes of his wife and my friend Tootie. It should be said now, that I never got to meet Steven. I've only listened to one of the bravest women I've ever known tell me story after story about him. I've been to the home they built together, seen the photos that tell the story of their lives. I've laughed til my sides ached and I've cried over the absurdity of his sudden death. I have to tell this story in the first person. That's not really how professional writers are supposed to write, but I can't really tell this one any other way..... read the whole article HERE

Chris McConnell grew up around horses. He's admired their form and grace. Often, they are the inspiration for his artwork.
"The horse was copied from my neighbors saddle- bred. Gordon Safran is the owner of the horse. He retired from being the CEO and President of “E.B Brown” (Optical and hearing aids.) After that he had the Red Maple Inn built. Located in Burton OH, it is a 4 star Hotel and Bed & Breakfast. The horse was placed at the hotel this past fall before I went to school," says Chris.
The horse weighs 1900lbs and is made of things like propane tank, rebar, truck leaf springs and more recycled material. We commend Chris for his beautiful interpretation of the Saddlebred in motion and for his elegant use of scrap. To contact Chris about a commission email him at chrismcconnell2@gmail.com
